Good and Bad Stress revisited

I had written about good and bad stress about a year ago (https://medium.com/@health-nut/stress-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly-9d2e6f6e4573) . Nothing defines our times like stress! When reading Mark Manson’s recent article https://medium.com/@markmanson/10-cool-things-about-the-brain-and-what-it-means-for-you-792b28e486c, the point 4) about “how stress kills brain cells” caught my attention. I have been learning about stress for a while. …

Blood Pressure Blues

My new favorite Running and Walking Shoes!

Surprisingly there is lot to obsess about in Running for such a simple activity. For example, each feet has 26 bones, 30 joints and 100 muscles, tendons and ligaments (https://www.arthritis.org/health-wellness/about-arthritis/where-it-hurts/anatomy-of-the-foot). And of course you can obsess about each one of them. …

Barefoot running with Vibrams

I never thought I will run with barefoot shoes. But here I am writing about my experience with barefoot shoes running over last month or so. When I ran a marathon last march, my knees were totally inflamed after the first half. So I ended up walking the second half…

Do you need Statins?

Statins are typically prescribed for lowering cholesterol. They are quite controversial both in medical community and general public. Personally for me it has not been an issue so far. However, I have read a lot about heart disease as it is a big concern for Diabetics. If somebody has already…
